Case Exchange – new protection for already graded collectibles
With Black Grading Service's case exchange service, cards and collectibles that we have already encapsulated can be converted into a new BLACK case.
The service is suitable, for example, for damaged, scratched or heavily used cases and ensures that your collector's item is presented again in a high-quality and safe manner.
FOR VARIOUS BLACK CASE FORMATS
Case swapping is available for our different case variants.
These include:
45pt cases for corresponding standard cards
55pt cases for standard cards with increased card weight
130pt cases for thicker cards like sports cards, patch cards or relic cards
Booster cases for booster products already encapsulated by Black Grading Service
REPLACEMENT OF THE CASE
The existing BLACK case is professionally removed and replaced with a new, suitable case.
Depending on the condition and design, the existing label can also be renewed as part of the case exchange.
The original evaluation of the card will not be re-performed. The case exchange is used exclusively to renew or replace the existing encapsulation.
RATING & DATA REMAINED
The existing rating, serial number and associated card data remain.
The existing database entry is still assigned to the respective collector's item and remains accessible via the corresponding serial number or QR code.
NEW BLACK CASE
After the exchange, your collector's item will receive a new, securely sealed BLACK case in the appropriate format.
This way, the original rating is preserved while the external presentation and protection of the collector's item is renewed.

The regular processing time for case exchanges is 14-21 business days.
