Phase 01 · Analysis

From arrival to validated assessment.

Every stage builds on the previous one. Move through the workflow and watch the digital card model respond.

Phase 02 · Criteria

Every surface becomes measurable.

The BLACK Original Grade Master makes card borders, centre point, corners and printed surfaces precisely readable. Select a criterion to reveal its inspection area.

Centering

9.2

For centering, we inspect the position of the card artwork and all printed elements within the card borders. Front and back are graded independently.

Phase 03 · Final grade

Eight values. One traceable grade.

The final grade is based on the four subgrades Centering, Corners, Edges and Surface. Front and back are analysed separately for each criterion, resulting in eight individual ratings. The validated individual ratings are then combined into the final grade according to the rules of our grading system. Subgrades provide a transparent and traceable view of the individual grading areas and the resulting final grade.

Determining the final grade

The final grade is based on the four subgrades Centering, Corners, Edges and Surface. Front and back are analysed separately for each criterion, resulting in eight individual ratings. The validated individual ratings are then combined into the final grade according to the rules of our grading system. Subgrades provide a transparent and traceable view of the individual grading areas and the resulting final grade.

Case

Slabbing and sealing

After grading, the card, label and subtle black inlay are precisely placed into the Black Grading Service Case and permanently sealed. The case is made from clear, high-quality acrylic and provides a premium feel, permanent sealing, water resistance, impact resistance and tamper protection. The black inlay presents the card elegantly. A forcefully opened case cannot be restored to its original condition.

13
Quality control

Final quality control

Before release, every card undergoes final quality control. We verify the correct card, card data, Serial Number, grade, label, placement in the case, case condition, database entry and Digital Report. Only after successful quality control is the card approved for shipping.

Digital

Digital Report and verification

A Digital Report is available for every graded card. Depending on the service, it can include front and back images, Serial Number, final grade, subgrades, card information, documented irregularities, verification data and Population Report. The report can be accessed at any time using the Serial Number.

Return shipping
